Hi I am Dr. Brian Thalhamer, DC founder of Wellness Chiropractic in 1999. I graduated from Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward California that same year. I am a Sonoma County Native born in the city of Petaluma. I live right here in Santa Rosa with my wife and three kids (Two Boys and a Girl). I consider myself one of the truely blessed individuals that actually loves what I do. I have always believed Chiropractic choose me I didn't choose Chiropractic. When you come to my office as many of my patients will testify it is my goal for each patient to be sucessful not only in health but in life as well. I am a motivator, a healer and a coach of healthy lifestyles. It is my professional purpose not just to get people out of pain but to change lives using advanced chiropractic care.

Here's my story: When I was 12 years old while playing pop-warner football I suffered my first lowback injury. I spent the next 7 years with Low Back pain. I would roll on footballs, basketballs anything to get some relief but it never really slowed me down, it just "Hurt!" Then one day when I was 19 years old while weight training for college baseball I really hurt my back. In the middle of a heavy squat something popped and I had shooting, burning pain down my right leg. Needless to say "I was scarred" not to mention I could barely walk. As fate would have it my childhood friend that I was training with was a chiropractic patient . Just as many of "my" patients do...... he referred me to "His Chiropractor". That was the day my life changed forever. I have been a chiropractic patient  ever since, which has ultimatley improved and enhanced my life in more ways than I can express. As I look back over my life and all my experiences I realize there were many  suggestions pointing me in the direction of becoming a chiropractor it just took me a few years to realize my destiny. As a matter of fact her is just one of the many stories which came from one of my elementary school classmates Burt W. he shared this story with me on my Facebook page:

Dr. Brian Thalhamer

"I feel indebted to tell you this since I see the profession you chose and I'm sure this story is close to the origins of it.  I remember it very vividly a day you actually 'decompressed' my spine.  Here is the surprising twist.  We were both in the 5th grade!  I'm not kidding, and I'm certain of this, because I remember it blowing me away.  I don't know if you already have an 'I was doing this when I was in elementary school' story, but I will vouch for it...  In fact, I can still tell you exactly how you did it... Maybe nothing has changed."  (It has Burt)

"So here it is, your chiro-origins. My back was sore (my father always had me doing a lot of pick and shovel excavating old school style) and I was showing how I was using push pins as a distracting sensory to deal with it. You politely told me you had a better idea, asked me to cross my arms in front of my chest and you backed up to my back. At that point you reached behind, grabbed my elbows and bent over yourself, lifting me off the floor and essentially rolling me over a barrel. My back popped like a stick running down a washboard and after I got over the obligatory initial chiropractic scare reaction, I realized that felt really good. For the remaining 28 years I have been doing it to other people, but frankly, they never get it right in return... Needless to say, that was the first day I was impressed with your maturity. You don't expect that from a 5th grader. Even if you are in 5th grade yourself."  (Burt W.)

That is a true story!

I look forward to becoming a part of your health team and having an opportunity to change your life!

In good health and God Bless,

Dr. Brian Thalhamer, DC

Dr. Darius Bunyad, DC

My name is Dr. Darius Bunyad, DC. I wanted to take this moment to let you know a little about myself, how I became a Chiropractor and how I can help you. I’m a graduate of Southern California University of Health Science in 2008 where I received my doctorate.   I’m originally from Afghanistan, as a child my family and I had moved around quite a bit around the Middle East until I was 9 years of age. We finally landed in New York and shortly thereafter, moved to California. I grew up in Terra Linda, a small part of San Rafael, and now live in Petaluma.  I had always wanted to become a doctor like my parents, but was never clear on the field of specialty until I was unfortunate and fortunate enough to be rear ended on the highway 12.

The accident lead me to Dr. Brian Thalhamer’s office.  At the time I was working as a personal trainer with 24 Hour Fitness and Dr. Brian was very helpful with educating the trainers on the effects of chiropractic, when I was rear-ended, he had informed me of the impact the accident had upon my spine. We decided to take X-Rays which allowed me to see the actual impact of whiplash on my cervical spine.  I couldn’t believe it, growing up in a medical model which didn’t recognize chiropractic, I was confused as to why the medical doctor I saw had only given me drugs based on a two minute interview, and this chiropractor had performed so many extensive exams, scans, and X-rays to give me a real diagnosis and plan to get me out of pain and keep me that way. After a few months of care I noticed that people would walk into his office in pain and leave without pain so I had to find out more about what he did and how it was possible for someone to get better without the side effect.

After 7 more years of school, I graduated, traveled around the world to find a place where I can start practicing helping people. I decided to come up to my old stomping grounds of Santa Rosa, practiced locally at another office for a few of months until Dr. Brian Thalhamer  found me on Facebook and invited me over to his practice. I have been practicing alongside Dr. Brian since December of 2009 and I look forward to working with you.
